Be gentle
 by Jackie Coupe
These are my newborn creations, hardly perfect, but strangely written. I had a moment last night when everything I thought came together line after line. Help me evolve....

GAMES

Don’t play the game if you can’t be sure of winning

Don’t look over your shoulder, that’s me back there, grinning

Over and under

Over and out

Once the game's done

We all scream and shout

The games we played were sacred, and the people involved arcane

It took away the thoughts of the day and all other things insane

Over and under

Over and out

Once the game's done

We all scream and shout

The rules of the game were simple, don’t speak, don’t tell

The price to pay for the rules to belay was indeed almighty hell

Over and under

Over and out

Once the game's done

We all scream and shout

I was always the best at the game, the prize was always mine

To sit there for all to see, my eyes how they would shine

Over and under

Over and out

In the end all there is left to do…

is shout
